What is Alpha?
A series of interactive sessions where guests have an opportunity to explore life and Christian faith freely in a friendly and informal environment.
Alpha guests grow individually, yet also develop relationships with others - even if they are not at all like themselves.
Each Alpha sessions has three elements
Whether it's a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It's no different at Alpha. Every session starts with a good meal because it's a great way to build community and get to know each other.
The videos are designed to engage and inspire conversation. About thirty minutes long, they explore the big issues around faith and unpack the unique claims and promises of Christianity, addressing questions like Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic in a small group discussion. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
ALPHA DAY Away
After week 7 an optional, but highly recommended retreat takes place. The Spring 2019 Day Away will be Saturday, March 2. Adding other elements to meals, videos and discussions, It's the most memorable and impactful part of Alpha.
